This may always be remembered as the year that Lady Gaga wore a meat dress to the VMAs, but the singer wore more than meat in 2010. As one of the year’s most stylish celebrities, Gaga managed to make headlines for her fashions, be they weird or beautiful.

She wore hats made of telephones, semi-nude bodysuits, dresses that looked like they were modeled on planets, lots of bikinis (even one made of meat), mirrors, sunglasses, masks and really anything your fashionista heart could desire. She took risks, and at times, even when she was dressed more conventionally, still looked edgy and completely herself.
As the face of the MAC Viva Glam campaign, Gaga hit the trail alongside pop icon Cyndi Lauper to spread the word about the charity. During an event in London, Gaga donned all-black lace, including a bodysuit and tights. But she took the fitted, demure frock and amped up the style by including a voluminous hat-and-mask combination. Gaga once again wore lace, this time white, to the Almay concert to celebrate the Rainforest Fund. The look included a bodice, a bouffant and a flowery hair clip.
Gaga wore several memorable looks to the VMAs, but it was her most sedate that was the most traditionally stylish. Her leather Armani-designed gown might have looked silly on anyone else, thanks to its pointy bustier, but if anyone can pull off points and a Mohawk, it’s Gaga.
The singer also displayed her keen eye for fashion on the streets. While out in London in October, Gaga went boho chic rocking a gray and blue wig, tiered pale-blush gown and sunglasses. Meanwhile, in Paris months later, Gaga looked refined in a blush- and lavender-hued Victorian-style gown that she paired with sunglasses and a beehive.

Fans are responding with fervor to the great pop battle of 2011. Who will come out on top when Lady Gaga and Britney Spears release new music this year?
Well, it seems that Perez Hilton has a feeling that both ladies will be wildly successful. And he also pointed out that there are a few other horses in this race.
“The gays will be very happy. I think it’s going to be super exciting and competitive, especially because Ke$ha’s still going to be around and Katy Perry’s still around,” he told MTV News. “It’s gonna be a very competitive year for females in music, and that’s exciting.”
If we’re putting Gaga and Brit head to head, who would Perez place his bet on? “When the dust settles, I definitely think that Lady Gaga will win in this battle just because I know personally that Gaga is so hungry and determined to make this album successful that she’s going to work so hard,” he said. “Whereas Britney and her camp think she doesn’t have to work as hard. It will be successful, but I don’t think it will be as successful as Gaga’s.”
He may give it to Gaga in the end, but he noted that Britney does have a leg up — initially, at least.
“Britney Spears has an advantage coming out first, because if Gaga would have come out first, that would have hurt Britney,” he explained. “But Britney can have her moment to shine, and I look forward to hearing [her single].”

Britney Spears Vs. Lady Gaga: Fans Weigh In
Fans are split between Gaga and Britney as 2011’s Queen of Pop.

On Monday, MTV News tried to forecast whether Lady Gaga or Britney Spears will be 2011’s ruling diva. And while our experts decided it was sort of a toss-up, commenters on our predictions had very strong opinions on that epic question. With nearly 1,500 posts between the Newsroom blog and the Gaga vs. Britney article, here are the results of fans’ votes on the matter.
Spears won the poll on the Newsroom blog with more than 60 percent of the vote. Britney fanatics stated their overwhelming support for the singer. “The one and only legend Britney Spears from past to present, she’s the most popular on the planet,” Jojo wrote. “We the supporters love Britney Spears a lot. We buy her perfume, CDs … we are here for her. The legend is coming through.”
Daniel wrote, “You never know what to expect from Lady Gaga but I think that THE REAL QUEEN OF POP is back … TEAM BRITNEY!” Meanwhile, commenter CrazySpears wrote, “I think GAGA is ok but people can never compare her with Britney … you know Britney is the Queen.”
But Gaga’s little monsters were also out in full support of their mother monster. “Born This Way will be the album of the decade and that’s a fact,” Little wrote. “2011 is Gaga’s year, again.”
Imtherealbatman wrote, “LADY GAGA FTW! Lady Gaga is the shizz dude. She is going to win this war. I LOVE YOU LADY GAGA!” Another Gaga commenter, Carl, added, “WHAT COMPETITION IS THERE !?! Have you not seen the impact Lady Gaga has done to pop culture today?! Bringing dance music back on the scene, creating a buzz by standing up for gay rights, connecting to her fans in a way NO other artist has!?”
In the end, commenter Kyle proposed that it’s really anyone’s game. “Well, just in case you were saying I’m not a devoted Gaga fan, you’re wrong. Born This Way is all I think about. But I love Britney just as much. And neither is superior,” he wrote. “They are famous for their own reasons and it doesn’t matter what they are. What matters is how much devotion and loyalty they get from fans. Britney’s fanbase has been and always will be huge. Just like Gaga’s is growing strong.”

Lady Gaga is clearly one of the most creative presences in showbiz right now, having repeatedly proved that she knows no boundaries when it comes to shocking and setting the bar higher up for all those who would ever dare to emulate her. At the recent amfAR New York Gala, the singer pushed the envelope even further, working the red carpet in nothing but a two-piece, military-style jacket and cap and hundreds of pearls glued all over her body, as the Daily Mail can confirm.
As noted above, it’s no longer a secret that Gaga likes to shock and to set herself apart from other pop artists with her unique fashion style. After all, this is the woman who wears moving orbs as skirts and Alexander McQueen “claw†boots on a regular basis when even highly experienced models have problems keeping themselves upright in them. The other night, at the charity event, Gaga showed that there is truly no limit to her creativity and fearlessness.

When Lady Gaga visited the Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday to unveil her latest creation with Polaroid, one insider said the megastar — who was appearing at CES for the second consecutive year — unsurprisingly acted like a consummate professional.
“The vibe was perfectly chill. We were supposed to go live at 3:30, but she didn’t come out until 4:05. She pulled an Axl Rose,” joked Victor Borachuk, director of the Ustream webcast that covered the event. “There was a huge crowd. Everyone was waiting and waiting and waiting. Nobody really got upset that she was late. Everybody sat patiently and waited, which was interesting.”
Gaga, who was on hand to introduce new Polaroid sunglasses that come equipped with cameras imbedded in the lenses, was all business, Borachuk furthered. Despite a lounge area backstage, the singer generally kept to herself before and after her public appearance. “It was interesting because she was chill; she was doing her thing,” he explained. “It wasn’t diva-ish. She was very laid back.”
Aside from the lack of diva antics, Borachuk said he was most surprised by how much Gaga actually knew about the product and that didn’t treat it like some vanity project. “She was actually into the technology. I remember thinking, ‘Lady Gaga’s into the Polaroid cameras,’ ” he recalled. “Backstage it was cool. There was a full bar, but she was in her room the whole time until like five minutes before she went out. When she was done, she peaced out. It was a cool event.
Last year I heard she didn’t make that big of an appearance, but this year she showed up and did her thing.”
Gaga herself admitted in a sit-down about the event that she wanted to make sure that the products she put out with the company fit in perfectly with her Little Monsters’ lifestyles. “It’s been a really long and exciting and grueling and inspiring process with Polaroid, and we’ve really done everything we can to improve the instant camera to make it new and make it compatible with digital era,” she explained. “I wanted to create products that I knew they would love to use.”

2010 went out with a bang thanks to blockbuster albums by Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, but 2011 looks to top that flurry of releases with an avalanche of fresh product from some of your favorite artists.
While its release is still unconfirmed, one of the most anticipated discs of the year could drop as early as next week. That’s when Jay-Z and Kanye’s collabo album, Watch the Throne, hits shelves if comments made by Yeezy on New Year’s Eve are to be believed.
Here’s a breakdown of some other important albums on tap for 2011.
Hip-Hop
The Jigga/’Ye hookup promises to be the first of many major rap events in the first half of the year, which is also expected to bring the long-awaited new disc from Lupe Fiasco, Lasers; the full-length debut from Wiz Khalifa; as well as not-yet-titled new sets from Nas and 50 Cent.
In addition to Rick Ross’ God Forgives, I Don’t and a possible Dipset reunion effort, fans are also awaiting release dates for Drake’s sophomore CD, Take Care, and the debut from buzzbomb MC/producer Jay Electronica, who holds the seal of approval from Roc Nation head Jay-Z. And after a delay caused by MCA’s (a.k.a. Adam Yauch) cancer scare, the Beastie Boys are planning a return with their eighth studio album, The Hot Sauce Committee, Part 2, in the spring.
All of that could just be an appetizer, though, for the main event: the release of Lil Wayne’s first post-prison album, the hotly tipped Tha Carter IV, which has not yet received a street date. And there is, of course, the always tantalizing proposition of Dr. Dre finally dropping his years-in-the-making rap follow-up Detox, on which Eminem has recently said he’s been working with his mentor.

Since “Whip My Hair” became a viral sensation, fans have been hyped for the still-untitled debut from tween star Willow Smith, who has hinted she might remake one of dad Will’s signature hits. But it’s the next move from the queen of R&B, Beyoncé, that has fans really psyched.
She may have killed off her alter ego for the follow-up to 2008’s smash I Am … Sasha Fierce, but Beyoncé has some big plans for her still-untitled album. Producer Jim Jonsin said he intends to take a retro, Depeche Mode-inspired electro direction on some of the songs, while Sean “The Pen” Garrett promised some uptempo party records, with B drawing inspiration from Michael Jackson and Lauryn Hill.
The year’s biggest showdown, though, could come in the emerging diva battle between Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. Britney looks to draw first blood with the upcoming release of a single from her next album, “Hold it Against Me,” which is due within the week. Gaga’s second full-length album, Born This Way, is one of the most anticipated of the year and currently slated to hit in May, with the title track single expected in February.
Other pop releases on tap include an album from “Glee” star Matthew Morrison, the long-awaited new disc from troubled British R&B singer Amy Winehouse, Avril Lavigne’s delayed Goodbye Lullaby, a possible second CD from dance duo La Roux, more body-thumping goodness from Swedish singer Lykke Li and the debut from Sky Ferreira. Also in the studio and expected to wrap up sessions in time for a 2011 release is Kelly Clarkson.

This year will bring a bumper crop of albums from reunited rock bands, classic acts and new groups looking to capitalize on their recent success.
In addition to a dance-oriented album from U2 called Songs of Ascent, you can expect new tunes from R.E.M (Collapse Into Now) and the Foo Fighters, whose next one will feature a mini-Nirvana reunion thanks to bass on at least one track by ex-Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic.
Other artists expected or scheduled to release LPs this year include Radiohead, the Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, My Morning Jacket, Bright Eyes, Cold War Kids, PJ Harvey, ex-Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump, former FOB bassist Pete Wentz’s new band Black Cards, Iron & Wine, Tennis, Passion Pit, Fiona Apple, Fleet Foxes, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wilco and the reunited No Doubt.
Speaking of reunions, Blink-182 have been working on their first new album in seven years, while drummer Travis Barker is slated to drop his solo debut in the first half of the year. Another band returning from a long hiatus, the Strokes, also look to make their comeback in early 2011.
They’ve kept things quiet, but Coldplay are also hard at work on what they’ve described as a concept album about a couple lost in love. The Brian Eno-produced album has not yet gotten a street date.
After having a smash 2010 with Lungs, fans of Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine may also get a second album from the flame-haired singer. Although there’s been no official announcement, based on comments made by singer/guitarist Jack White, this could also be the year the White Stripes return to action after a nearly three-year hiatus.

Nearly a year ago, when Lady Gaga announced that she had signed on as a creative director with Polaroid, the singer told fans she’d already begun work on a series of “prototypes in the vein of fashion/technology/photography innovation.” This Thursday, we’ll finally get to see the fruits of her labor.
That’s when Polaroid will unveil their so-called “Grey Label,” the end result of — as the company puts it in a statement — “a collaboration between two of the most influential icons of our time: Polaroid and Lady Gaga.” The launch will happen at the massive Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, but little monsters can also watch it unfold live on Polaroid.com at 3:30 p.m. PT.
Of course, it’s not exactly clear what Polaroid’s Grey Label will actually entail (the former instant-camera giant says it will be “the next generation instant experience”), but there’s already a fancy website dedicated to the project, complete with a clock counting down to the big reveal.
Gaga isn’t speaking about the project either (she’s probably too busy unveiling pertinent information about her upcoming Born This Way album — and her backside — on Twitter, but in April, she held a creative meeting with Polaroid in Tokyo, in which she apparently wowed her new corporate partners with her ideas.
“It’s very clear from our first few sessions that she is a creative tour-de-force, and a key player on the Polaroid team. … The partnership is all channeling Lady Gaga’s fashion sense to create innovative products with her fans in mind,” a post on Polaroid’s website read last year. “The collaboration will deliver new products that mix the best of ‘instant’ with digital era multi-media. Lady Gaga has a personal connection to the Polaroid experience that she wants to share with the world through the introduction of products that will appeal to a new generation.”

2011 is bound to be a big year for Lady Gaga, and now it seems that her choreographer, Laurieann Gibson, is also poised for a big year. Gibson will star in her own E! reality show, tentatively titled “The Dance Scene,” set to premiere in April, EW reports.
The show will follow Gibson as she trains assistant choreographers and dancers to work with celebrities. Ryan Seacrest, who will serve as the show’s producer, explains, “Dance is at the center of pop culture — today more than ever — and Laurieann is an amazing force accelerating this huge wave of creativity. This series gives audiences an insider’s view of how competitive the dance world is, the talent and ambition that a dancer needs to be successful in the Hollywood scene, and the drama that ensues along the way.”
The eight episode docu-series will officially debut April 10.
“The competitive world of the professional dancer is grueling creative work,” said Lisa Berger, executive vice president of programming at E!. “Watching Laurieann mentor these young artists, who will do anything to make it in the business, gives us a glimpse into a world where the pursuit of success and excellence outweighs all else.”
Gibson most recently worked with Gaga, but has also worked with Diddy and Alicia Keys. She’s also tasted reality show life, having appeared on “Making the Band” and “Skating With the Stars.”
This week, Gibson tweeted about filming her show, writing, “In London.. Shooting new show on E”!!! Its gonna be Epic.!!”
She later tweeted a photo of her cameramen, adding, “Lookin’ good guys! Team BoomKack … shooting E show in London!!!”

Lady Gaga loves to surprise fans with cameo appearances and performances. And on Wednesday night in New York City, Gaga did it again when she popped up at the Plaza Hotel’s famed nightclub, the Oak Room.
Gaga took the stage during a scheduled set by her friend, singer/trumpeter Brian Newman, to perform two jazz standards, “Someone to Watch Over Me” and “Orange Colored Sky.” Before Gaga’s surprise performance, Newman expressed his excitement about the show, tweeting, “Looking forward to the gig at the @oakroomny @theplazahotel tonight!

For her set, Gaga donned long blond locks and a leather bandage-style S&M dress along with garters. In a video posted online, Gaga displayed her strong singing ability while forgoing her usual raucous onstage antics as she belted out the tunes for the cheering crowd.
The club’s staff posted news of the performance on its Twitter page as it happened, telling fans to come by if they could and keeping those who couldn’t in the loop. “Come to the packed @oakroomny @theplazahotel right now to see LADY GAGA — singing, dancing — its amazing!!!” they tweeted. “Lady Gaga @oakroomny right now singing LIVE!!!!!… its packeddd.”
It’s not the first time that Gaga has surprised Oak Room clubgoers during a show by Newman. Mother Monster also performed at the New York hotspot back in September, wearing a dress made of human hair. “There were no tickets sold,” the club said in a statement at the time. “She sang three songs as a surprise gig because she’s friends with the musician we have on Wednesdays, Brian Newman.”

The clock struck midnight and brought good news for Lady Gaga fans.
As promised, the pop superstar tweeted a big announcement with regard to her forthcoming album, Born This Way. While others were sipping champagne to trumpet in the new year, the Gaga faithful were awaiting news from their beloved. And at midnight, the singer tweeted that her third album will be released in stores on May 23 and the first single from it will be released on February 13.
“THE SONG 2 13 11 THE RECORD 5 23 11,” is all she wrote.
Along with the announcement, Gaga tweeted a new black-and-white photo in which she is nude from the waist down, with her hair blowing about, and sporting a jacket with the album’s title emblazoned in what look like bedazzled jewels.
Before she made the announcement official, she teased her Twitter followers with lyrics from Born This Way, writing, “I’m beautiful in my way, ’cause God makes no mistakes/ I’m on the right track baby, I was born this way/ Don’t hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you’re set/ I’m on the right track, baby, I was born this way.”
This could be another stellar year for Gaga. Her last album, The Fame Monster, was the best-selling album of 2010 worldwide, selling nearly 6 million copies. She also has had seven consecutive singles that have been top 10 hits, with two of them hitting no. 1.

In 2010, Lady Gaga battled Taylor Swift for female pop domination, but in 2011, Gaga is going up against none other than career pop star Britney Spears. It should be a truly epic battle of the blondes, and it’s made even more interesting because the two not only share sonic similarities, but also have very similar fanbases of loyal devotees waiting to hear new notes from the chart-topping lasses.
In 2008, both Gaga and Spears released new music (Gaga with The Fame and Britney with Circus), and the ladies each released compilation albums in 2009 (Gaga’s The Fame Monster and Britney’s second greatest-hits collection, The Singles Collection), but never have their releases really come face to face as they will this year.
Gaga is set to release her single in February, with her full album, Born This Way, to follow sometime after. Meanwhile, Britney will have her first single out very early in 2011, with the album set for release in March.
So, which bombshell will rise to the top of the heap? MTV News asked music critics to weigh in.
“I think the thing about Gaga is: Her persona is really experimental, but her music isn’t, and I think she’s gonna have to really come out with some different stuff to make it more interesting,” writer Julianne Escobedo-Shepherd proposed. “I think her fanbase is so solid that she’ll be fine no matter what she does.”
New York Times writer Jon Caramanica noted that no one can guess what Gaga has up her sleeve for her next album, but it will be interesting.
“I see Gaga changing every six months,” he said. “I think she’s trying new ideas. Maybe they’re not all hits or they’re not all successful, but I think she’s trying new things, so if you look at how Gaga’s going to evolve, I don’t think we can say where Gaga’s gonna land,” he explained, “but I think we can say reliably it’s going to be really interesting.”
How does a vet like Britney compete with a newbie? Escobedo-Shepherd explained that Spears is actually in a great place to do it.
“She’s got a blank slate right now,” she said. “People don’t know what to expect from her. I think the fact that maybe she’s being more experimental shows that she feels freer a little bit, and I think it’s going to show in the music,” she predicted. “In the music sphere, I think that Britney’s gonna win, but Gaga’s so on top you can’t top her, even if you’re Britney.”
RapRadar.com’s Elliot Wilson noted that right now, “It’s Gaga’s game to lose,” and Complex’s Noah Callahan said Spears’ vet status could work in her favor.
“The thing with Britney Spears that makes it work for her is that she’s been around for so long that people are invested in her narrative, and even when the records are so-so, they still have the desire to see her succeed as an individual,” he said. “I don’t really know what to expect from Lady Gaga in 2011. I do know that she will definitely throw us a curveball and do something that is unexpected.”

Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” single isn’t available for public consumption yet but the track is already slated to be covered by the McKinley High crooners on “Glee.”
Co-creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that the song will be featured in an episode set to air in either March or April. The storyline will focus on gay bully Karofsky, played by Max Adler, who is in the closet. Murphy said he chose to revamp the track because of its inspirational vibe; a theme he plans to thread throughout the episode.
“I love that that song is [an] anthem,” Murphy said. “This show is by nature optimistic and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark. But I also love Max and I love that character and I sorta want that character to have a happy ending. So I don’t really know what that’s going to be, but I do know we’re going to do a whole episode that’s about that song.”
The episode will likely be bookended by the release of Gaga’s single in February and the drop date of her Born This Way album, which is set to hit shelves in May.
Gleeks will not only get more Gaga, but Gwyneth Paltrow will also return as saucy substitute teacher Holly Holliday, and this time she gets to heat things up with faculty heartthrob Mr. Schuester.
“Gwyneth is coming back for two episodes. She’s coming back specifically to date Will [Matthew Morrison],” Murphy confirmed. “Those two have become really good friends in real life and had really good chemistry. She’s coming back as a sex education teacher. Gwyneth and I are emailing, talking every week: What are we gonna sing? We’re trying to do something fantastic. So she’ll be [in episodes] 15 and 16. She comes back [to film] in January and she’s with us for three and a half weeks I think.”

Bon Jovi showed all the newbies how it’s done. The veteran rock group had the most successful tour in 2010. And, following closely behind at #2 and #3 are fellow veteran acts AC/DC and U2, concert tracker Pollstar reports.
The New Jersey act sold an impressive $201.1 million worth of tickets worldwide this year in a concert economy that was on the downslide. Around the world, ticket sales for the top 50 tours dropped 12 percent to $2.93 billion, and in North America, they dropped 15 percent to $1.69 billion.
Bon Jovi beat out 2009’s top two acts, bumping AC/DC, who grossed $177 million in ticket sales, to #2, and U2, with $160.9 million (impressive, considering they had to postpone their North American leg to 2011 due to Bono’s back surgery), to #3 on the list. But hot on the heels of the aging rockers is Lady Gaga, the only woman in the top 10 tours for 2010.
Gaga and her Monster Ball tour placed fourth on the list. According to the report, Gaga’s over-the-top spectacle grossed $133.6 million over the course of 138 shows, most of which took place outside of North America. Gaga may have only placed fourth, but she played more shows than the top three: Bon Jovi played only 80 shows, AC/DC played 40 and U2 played 32 shows.
The rest of the top 10 is rounded out by Metallica at #5 (netting $110.1 million), pop crooner Michael Bublé was # 6 with $104.2 million; the live show “Walking With Dinosaurs” placed #7 with $104.1 million; Paul McCartney is #8 with $93 million; the Eagles are #9 with $92.3 million and Roger Waters is #10 with $89.5 million.
In North America alone, Bon Jovi kept their title as the top draw, followed by Roger Waters, Dave Matthews Band, Bublé and the Eagles.

Lady Gaga Unveils Polaroid Camera Sunglasses

She’s adorned her shades with lit cigarettes and covered her peepers with jewel-encrusted spheres, but Lady Gaga’s latest pair of sunglasses has taken eyewear to stylish and tech-savvy new heights.
The influential songstress revealed her yearlong “Grey Label” collaboration with Polaroid to a packed room and thousands of fans who tuned into the event via Ustream at the Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, in Las Vegas on Thursday (January 6), and among the spankin’ new products is a pair of shades with cameras embedded in the lenses.
Gaga, who took the stage nearly an hour after the publicized start time in a black corseted gown and wispy veil, showed off the innovative specs perched on a bronzed mannequin. Once turned on, tiny twin screens appeared in each lens, and Gaga explained that the futuristic accessories can snap photos and capture video, and are equipped with Bluetooth capabilities and a USB connector.
Mother Monster also showed off a sleek, portable photo printer about the size of a clock radio that allows users to instantly print physical copies of smartphone pics using Bluetooth technology — although the device isn’t iPhone compatible. Gaga said the invention was inspired by seeing the legions of concertgoers thrusting camera phones in the air at her shows. She then demonstrated the nifty printer by snapping a picture of the assembled crowd of Gaga-ites and gadget heads — playfully barking, “Smile! You’re so f—ing famous! — and brandishing a glossy image minutes later from the mini-machine. According to a Polaroid executive, the product should be available in May.
Gaga also introduced a suitably stylish and social media-friendly revamp of the classic Polaroid instant camera that she said would eventually allow photogs to directly share images on Facebook and Twitter. The product is slated to hit shelves around Christmas.
The Gaga-approved gadgets cap off a year of tinkering at Polaroid, which began when the “Bad Romance” belter was announced as a creative director in January 2010.
“I love the products, I’m so proud to be here,” Gaga gushed about developing the gadgets with Polaroid. “They honored me as a woman, as a creative director and they really let me [put my] hands in there and design this sh– myself.”

On Wednesday night, Lady Gaga played an intimate mini-set at New York City hot spot the Oak Room. And while she only played two songs, one fan at the Plaza Hotel venue tells MTV News that Gaga left everyone in the room completely “starstruck.”
“People were actually very into it; they were very calm and collected and starstruck at the same time,” little monster Ashley Rosner recalled of the show, which she accidentally stumbled into. “It was an excited crowd, but a reserved crowd. They wanted to respect her.”
Rosner and her pals walked into the show when they happened to catch a glimpse of Gaga through one of the Oak Room’s windows. The singer, wearing a black S&M-style dress and garters, was seated at a table with her entourage. “We were standing 20 feet away from her,” Rosner said. “I am a huge Lady Gaga fan. It was amazing being there and seeing her up close. It’s like seeing Madonna in 1984.”
A rep for the club noted that not only did Gaga sing, but she also hung out with her boyfriend as well. “So every Wednesday at the Oak Room, we have a jazz night with Brian Newman, and Lady Gaga and Brian are old friends. So she came once before to support him and it turned out she’s obsessed with the room and it’s the only place she’ll play impromptu for free,” the rep revealed.
“She loves the space and came there in her getup. She came there with her boyfriend, Luc Carl, and when they first got there, Brian was playing Sinatra songs and she was dancing and singing. Everyone was dancing and cheering and hanging out. She said she felt bad for the horses outside because it was cold. She told the owner that she’d be back in the near future.”
In addition to singing “Someone to Watch Over Me” and “Orange Colored Sky,” the star also chatted with the audience from onstage. “She has such a cute New York accent,” Rosner said. “She did talk a little bit. She was just having fun with it. You’d think she was getting paid a million dollars for it.”
“Everyone was really calm and collected; everyone was really cool. No one was going crazy and screaming,” Rosner’s pal, Lauren Suss, added. “It almost felt like I was just at a jazz bar, not at a Lady Gaga concert. There weren’t a lot of people there; probably under a hundred people. She [joked] that she got a little vodka on someone in the crowd.”
After her brief performance, according to Rosner, Gaga “hung for about another 10 to 15 minutes and then she got up to leave. She went out the side door and there was a Rolls-Royce and an SVU waiting for her … I think she got into the Rolls-Royce.”

Lady GaGa announces “Born This Way” release dates
Pop singer Lady GaGa has announced the release dates of her upcoming new album and single with same title Born This Way. The single will premiere the Grammy night on February 13, 2011 and the album on May 23, 2011.
